![]() Carolina Smith 28 November, 2010 Christmas Spectacular This holiday season I was lucky enough to get great tickets to the Christmas Spectacular show, starring the Radio City Rockettes. It was an amazing show. The Rockettes were of course beautiful, and a wonderful group to watch. Not only was their part great, but the storyline was cute also. The show altogether was wonderful to watch. My husband enjoyed it as well. I thought it was so amazing that these girls could tap so on point, that during a part where they tapping was showcased, if one tap was off it would have been noticed. It was the opening dance where they did kick lines, jazzy dance, and tap. My husband enjoyed the soldier piece where they did fun lines and formations. They are definitely on point with their spacing and it really showed. They wore squared white pants so their outfits were also all straight lines. Spacing and using your peripheral seemed to be key. The routine looked like it had to of taken months to get perfect. I enjoyed the dancing on the bus. There was a tour bus on stage with two levels. The dancers filled the bus and danced on it while the bus moved forward and back. They wore all white dresses and coats. Right before they got off the bus they removed the hats and jackets, revealing a new costume. The ending led to them holding a big block that they used as a prop. They spun it and did cool things with it. The end of the dance was the coolest part since, after spinning ad spinning these blocks, they were flipped to spell MERRY CHRISTMAS. The last dance was about baby Jesus and the three kings. It seemed like it wasn’t really a dance but more a story. I was so sad when it ended. It was only an hour and a half. I wanted at least two. I loved it. One thing I did not like was the kicks were it was like a develop kick instead of straight up. It looked like a flick kick and was UGLY! I also noticed that in a dance where the Rockettes were kicking and moving in a circle, their were some who moved their upper body while kicking. I know that that is a no no. There were people in full costumes, dressed as bears and it was cute. Some did ballet, as well as a young girl who did very well. There were also little people. I loved all of the Christmas songs they used. It really brought great holiday spirit and got you excited for December. The music and choreography went together perfectly. For example, kicks during a ring of a bell. The dancers were so pleasant to watch. Smiles the whole time unless their were choreographed facials. The cool thing about each dance was the different spacing. And they were all in perfect formation each time. They had formations that were more than a simple triangle and windows. Their super long legs made their kicks look tall and pretty. Altogether an amazing show that I would love to see again. |
